The Office of the General Counsel for Loyola University Chicago seeks an attorney experienced in the areas of real estate and contract review to become a member of its team. Under the supervision of the Senior Vice President and General Counsel, this position will draft, review and advise on a broad array of contracts and other transactional matters and provide legal advice in the area of real estate (including purchases and sales, construction contracts, leases, real estate taxation and zoning), assume responsibility for other practice areas as needed (with appropriate training), and handle other duties assigned. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
Education, training, experience:
Qualified candidates must possess: a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and ranking in the upper fourth of their law school class; admission to state and federal practice in Illinois; a minimum of 3 years of meaningful experience (other than litigation) in broad-based and sophisticated contract review, particularly with real estate matters; and, proficient word processing computer skills . Prior experience representing higher education or not-for-profit clients is a plus. Candidates must have excellent analytical and written and oral communication skills.
