Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit is growing! A well-established and leading law firm specializing in the representation of condominium and homeowner associations is seeking a full-time Litigation Associate with 3-7 years of experience. Qualified candidates must be licensed in Illinois and possess litigation experience. Mediation and arbitration experience preferred. Knowledge of and experience with the Illinois Condominium Property Act preferred, but not required.

The ideal candidate must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal). Must be comfortable working independently yet be a team player. Must be able to efficiently manage multiple projects and exercise good judgment in dealing with highly confidential matters. Business hours for this exempt position are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. There is flexibility for this to be a hybrid role. The starting salary is $100,000.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of Community Association Governing Documents (Declaration, Bylaws, Rules and

• Regulations) as well as the Illinois statutes pertaining to them.

• Responsible for eviction and debt collection process on behalf of homeowner and condominium associations and Landlords.

• Responsible for drafting, finalizing, and filing documents related to Condominium, Homeowner, and Townhome Associations and Landlord-Tenant matters.

• Familiar with motion practice and discovery procedures.

• Perform legal research and draft discovery and motions.

• Experience handling jury trials is a plus.

• Knowledge of post-judgment procedures also a plus.

• Travel throughout the Northern Illinois area required.

• Work with multiple clients.

• Timely follow-ups on various, related tasks.

• Participate in all Continuing Legal Education trainings.

• Any other duties as necessary or required.
